- 3 x 500 ml drinking water + 325 ml 100 plus
- High energy food such as chocolates, biscuits, sweets
- Hiking Pole x 2
- Headlamp, whistle

- DUFFLE BAG 40 LITRE
- Warm clothing
- Change of clothes and extra socks for sleeping.
- Jacket, long & short sleeves thermal shirts, hiking long pants, 2 in 1 long pants, thick socks and Kampung Adidas rubber shoes.
- Extra headlamp and hand gloves
- Balaclava mask
- Thermos flask
- Power bank
- Waterproof bag
Itinerary:
7:31 am, travel from Poring Hot Spring to Kinabalu Park.

8:53 am, climber registration at Kinabalu Park HQ
- Extra luggage can be stored at Kinabalu Park Headquarters at a nominal fee of RM 12 per piece prior climb.
- My porter fee is RM 78 (RM 13 x 6 kg); my actual luggage weight is 5.5 kg only; payment are made directly to the porters in cash.
- Rental of hiking pole is available in RM 10 per stick.

9:31 am, safety briefing by mountain guide at starting point
9:45 am, start climbing
1 pm, reach Layang-Layang hut, having lunch.
My packed lunch includes: 2 pcs of fried chicken wing, sandwich, egg, local snack,, apple and a bottle of 500ml drinking water.
4:43 pm, arrive Panalaban.
Panalaban is the pit stop or the base camp where climbers will take a rest before proceeding for the second part of their Mount Kinabalu Summit climb journey. It is located between 3,230 to 3,323 meters above sea level. Panalaban base camp houses a cluster of assorted huts such as Laban Rata Resthouse, Pendant Hut, Gunting Lagadan Hut, Lemaing Hut etc. These assorted huts provide overnight accommodation for climbers, inclusive of shower facilities and meals (Hot meals is only available on Laban Rata Resthouse).
Arrive and check in at Laban Rata Resthouse,
- girls stay at room number 3, Bed in 6-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room (Remark: water heaters for shower are only available in Laban Rata Resthouse private room 1, 2 & 3);
- while guys stay at room number 11, Bed in 12-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room.
5:55 pm, buffet dinner at Laban Rata restaurant.
