UTAR Bukit Gasing Trekathon 2008

The Bukit Gasing Forest Park straddles the border of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. It offers the perfect setting to hike, walk or stroll.

UTAR Trekathon 2008 to be held at Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on Sunday, 9 November 2008 from 8am to 11am.

Participation in the Bukit Gasing Trekathon is open to all UTAR students and students from invited institutions such as Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR college) and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).

The event is organised by the UTAR Department of Student Affairs (DSA) with the assistance from UTAR students Sports Club, Askar Wataniah and First Aid Society.
No fee will be charged for all participants and the closing date for registration is 31 October 2008.

Bukit Gasing Trekathon is an opportunity for good exercise and a chance to meet with other Utarians and also student from other educational institutions (TAR college & UPNM). The Trekathon was aimed at fostering closer ties among the students and also to serve as a platform for students from various campuses (from Setapak, Kampar, Sungai Long and PJ campus) to interact with each other.

There will be four categories for participation such as: UTAR women and men categories, Open (TAR college & UPNM) women and men categories. Medal will be awarded to the champions (gold), first runners-up (silver) and second runner-up (bronze) for all categories.

Morning, we are taking UTAR bus depart from UTAR Kuala Lumpur campus to Bukit Gasing.
This year's Trekathon at Bukit Gasing drew strong response from over 200 young men and women.
All of us are gather at the grounds at the Petaling Jaya entrance to do warm up before Trekathon start.
For the first time, students from University Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia and TAR college were invited to join UTAR annual sports event.

Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia won the UTAR Open championships for both the men's and woman's categories. They made a clean sweep of all the first three palcing in the open category.
