Last official duty day in Setapak Campus.

Farewell UTAR PJ and KL Campuses

After 13 years in Section 13, Petaling Jaya (PJ)
and about 11 years in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur (KL),
these two UTAR campuses have ceased operations and moved into the new City Campus built opposite the existing Sungai Long campus building.

For many of us, it is a bittersweet moment to finally say goodbye as the memory of work and studies in these buildings.

一小时游 新山动物园 (Zoo Negeri Johor)

不知道为什么今天在健身房提不起精神运动，
我就干脆驾车去新山的陈旭年街 (Jalan Tan Hiok Nee)。

我把车泊好后，看着天气变幻无常，就带把雨伞展开今天的新山之旅。

早上11点45分，果然不出所料，新山开始下大雨，
我就去新山著名 IT ROO CAFE 避雨，顺便在那边吃午餐。

几年前，IT ROO CAFE 著名的招牌菜是鸡扒 (Chicken Chop)，
号称是全新山最好吃的鸡扒，还上过英文报 STAR。
不过从去年初开始，他们做的鸡扒水平已经不如从前那样好吃，
尤其是他们的炸马铃薯，更是让我非常失望。
注：一份鸡扒的价钱是 RM 15（还没包括 6% GST）。

午餐后， 我就开始走路从陈旭年街去新山动物园。

新山动物园售票处

下午一点抵达新山动物园。
成人的入门票是 RM 2。
新山动物园是由柔佛州政府管理。
新山动物园位于 Hospital Sultanah Aminah 和 Istana Besar Royal Abu Bakar 的中间，
也是位于 Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar 的前面。

如果拿国家动物园和新山动物园来比，我老早就已经料到新山动物园不会好到哪里去。
可是去到那边，让我大吃一惊：

第一，一般动物园该有的动物，那边都有，
如：熊，狮子，老虎，猴子，马，牛，羊，骆驼，孔雀，鸵鸟，蛇，鳄鱼，鹅，河马，鸟和其它动物。
而动物园的大象不在那里，根据那里的通告，大象被送去 Pahang 州。
我在那边没有看到的动物有犀牛，熊猫，袋鼠，无尾雄，猪；让我有一点儿失望。

第二， 新山动物园居然大到，我要花一个小时才走完。

第三，进去新山动物园以后，如果要去一些地方，要另外收钱，
如：大型的鸟笼收 RM 3； 兔子园收 RM 1； 小孩骑马好像是收 RM 6。

善意的提醒： 进动物园前，最好带把雨伞来遮太阳。

Attend IEM talk on "Oil and Gas Fabrication and Construction"

On 27 April 2015, I received an email from IEM Southern Branch.

The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Southern Branch is organizing the talk on "Oil and Gas Fabrication and Construction" at IEM Southern Branch Secretariat Office.

The speaker was introduce participants to the Oil and Gas Engineering, Fabrication and Construction Practices for piping, flange management and hydrotest activities.

The speaker was Ir. Azman Bin Yusoff, he was graduated in Mechanical Engineering from UTM in 1999. He is currently working as a Mechanical and Piping Engineer for Sarawak Shell Berhad. He started his career as a Construction Mechanical Engineer, involves in erection works for mechanical equipment. Throughout his career, he has been dealing with various aspects of the Oil and Gas Industry Construction Cycles, from engineering, procurement, planning, quality, testing & commissioning, and safety. Ir. Azman is currently working on the Malikai TLP Deepwater Project based in Pasir Gudang, Johor.

The participant fees for IEM Graduate Member (Below 30 years old) is RM 30.

8:30am - 9am,
I went up to 2nd floor of IEM Southern Branch Secretariat Office for registration.
In accordance with the flyer attach with email, the talk is strictly limited to 30 participants only.
However, what I saw there is that the talk was attended by full house, I was very sure that there were more than 40 people attending this technical talk.

9:15am - 10:15am,

Ayer Hitam Tropical Village （热带山庄）半日游

今天是佛教的卫塞节，我打算来点不一样的方式来庆祝，那就是去 Batu Pahat 半日游。
Batu Pahat 距离新山大约 130 公里。

早上十点半，我们从柔佛南部出发去 Batu Pahat。
我负责驾车，而我的同伴则负责带路。

我们把 GPS 的目的地定位在 Batu Pahat Mall 先，然后走南北大道上 Batu Pahat。
走了大约一个小时半以后，我们就转左进 Ayer Hitam 的路口。

过了大道收费站后，会遇到 T 字路口；
转左去 Ayer Hitam 和 Batu Pahat；转右则去 Kluang。

我们的目的地是去 Batu Pahat，所以我们转左。
在去 Batu Pahat Mall 的路途中，我们有经过 Ayer Hitam。
过了Ayer Hitam 后，有一间国立大学在我们的右手边，那就是敦胡先翁大学（UTHM）。

下午十二点半，我们到达当地著名的 Batu Pahat Mall 购物中心。
我把车停在 Batu Pahat Mall 的最上面，第三楼，
在那里泊车，不用给停车费。

我们先去那里解决午餐，然后到处走走。
我发现到那边的二楼有一点冷清，可是底楼却异常的热闹。
而且 Batu Pahat Mall 的对面是义山。

下午两点半，我们离开 Batu Pahat Mall，去下个目的地 Ayer Hitam 的热带山庄。

下午三点，抵达热带山庄。
Tropical Village 的入口出有一对巨型神马（World Largest Kuda Kepang）。

热带山庄的地址是 Batu 56, Jalan Air Hitam, 86100 Air Hitam, Johor.
开放时间是早上八点半到下午五点半，周二休息。
入门票为一个人 RM 10。

如果要坐公共交通从新山来这里的话，
可以坐 2 号巴士从 Larkin 巴士终站直接来到热带山庄。

热带山庄有：

• 超过30多个国家的名胜古迹，卡通乐园，迷你东南亚，中华公园，世界和平公园，啊拉伯之夜广厂！（绝对是拍照的好地方！）
• 超过50多种水果及果树，纸花园里花卉种类繁多！（这个我没兴趣！）
• 儿童娱乐场 包括鬼屋，太空屋，恐龙火车，哈哈镜和划船等。（注：要另外给钱！）
• 提供团体住宿及会议厅，适合生活营，团体聚会等，也提供伙食。

热带山庄要注意的事项：

• 那边有马和羊自由走动，小心马和羊的大便，不要踩到。
• 小心蚊子叮咬。
• 那边很晒，最好带雨伞遮太阳。
• 不要忘记带相机，不然你就算是白去了！

下午四点，我们离开热带山庄，准备返回家。

傍晚六点到家，结束今天的旅程。

0501 《青运全国爱心义跑》2015 - 柔佛站

今天是劳动节，这是我第二次在劳动节这一天义跑。
这次的《爱心义跑》新山站将从去年的百万镇移师到新山坡底，
新山人最熟悉的新山大钟楼为义跑起点，途径新山多个地标性建筑！

4月27日，晚上七点半，我去 JWC The Factory 30, Mount Austin 要报名义跑，
可惜他们已经停止接受报名，所以我只能在义跑当天现场报名。

早上六点半到七点，我驾着我那辆 GEN-2 的车 在新山大钟楼附近找车位，
还好在义跑工作人员的帮助下，我在 Jalan Thompson 的路旁泊车。

早上7点15分，我去登记处提交我的报名表格和报名费 RM 20。
可惜义跑的衣服已经派完了！我只好穿着我的白色运动衣去义跑。

爱心义跑前，在新山大钟楼前集合。

早上8点20分，7公里的义跑开始。

7公里义跑的路线有：
Dataran Bandaraya JB 新山大钟楼 --> Hospital Sultanah Aminah --> Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri Johor --> Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar --> Istana Besar Royal Abu Bakar --> Masjid Bandaraya Johor Bahru --> Pos Malaysia Johor Bahru --> Wisma AIA --> Bank Negara Malaysia (JB) --> Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim --> UTC Kotaraya --> The Puteri Pacific Johor Bahru --> Persada Johor --> ..... --> Dataran Bandaraya JB.

早上9点20分，我花了一个小时来完成7公里的义跑路程。

爱心义跑的表扬状和 Finisher Medal

早上九点半，离开新山大钟楼，驾车去陈旭年街（Jalan Tan Hiok Nee）吃早餐。

早上十点半到十一点半，去百万镇的 AEON 购物商场血拼（shopping）。
那边凡是消费 RM 100 以上（不包括6%的GST），就送 RM 10 的购物 voucher。

早上十一点半到下午十二点，
又回到陈旭年街著名的 Hiap Joo Bakery & Biscuit Factory 买椰子包。
一包卖 RM 3.70，里面有五粒椰子包。
他们面包的特别之处在于他们坚持使用木柴来烤面包，让我吃着面包有另一种传统风味。

买了面包以后，就直接回家。
一回到家，马上冲凉，睡觉。

晚上我们全家跟来自新加坡的阿姨和姨丈一起去柔佛再也吃咖哩鱼头当晚餐。

Kota Tinggi 的 强记肉骨茶

如果问我南马最好吃的肉骨茶在哪里？
我的答案应该是在 Kota Tinggi 的 强记肉骨茶 (Kiang Kee Bak Kut Tea)。

地址是 Batu 8, Jalan Mawai, 81900 Kota Tinggi, Johor.

强记肉骨茶不是在 Kota Tinggi 市中心里，店的位置是在从 Kota Tinggi 去 Mersing 的大马路旁。

应该很多人问我为什么这么偏心，南马有这么多家肉骨茶的店，为什么偏偏选它？
听说强记肉骨茶的汤料是用50多种药材熬出来的。
他们选用绝对新鲜的猪肉来煮，绝对不会有隔夜猪肉的问题。

注：
如果身体不适，千万不要来这里吃。
像我这种年轻人都不敢一个礼拜吃超过一次。
如果我一个礼拜吃超过一次，我的身体会受不起。
我怀疑可能跟它的汤头有关系。
所以那些有高血压和心脏病的人，劝你们还是不要吃。

再说，从我的工厂到那边只需要五分钟的路程。

强记肉骨茶，星期一和星期二休息。
营业时间通常是从早上八点到下午一点。

一人份的排骨 + 油条 + 白饭

价钱：
一人份的肉骨茶（排骨）Bah Kut Teh =RM 12
一碗白饭 Rice = RM 1

McDonald's National BREAKFAST Day

Today is McDonald's National BREAKFAST Day.

How do I know McDonald's today got providing free breakfast?
I know through McDonald's Malaysia's LINE Official Account.

Actually I don't like fast food.

Since this is the biggest breakfast giveaway, Free Egg McMuffin burger (Normal Price: RM 4.75).
Why not try it!

6:20am, I went to McDonald's Seri Alam.
That time, their manager is having a morning meeting with their staff.
When I queue up in-front of the counter, the couple in-front of me are bringing their child to eat breakfast.
They cannot decide what to eat for breakfast, so some of my time are wasted for waiting my turn.
Finally is my turn, I asked the staff at the counter whether they got provide free breakfast for today.
The staff told me that their free breakfast start providing at 7am and end at 10am.
I cannot wait, so I walked away.
Two Foon Yew High School girl line up behind me also walked away,
I think their purpose of coming here also same with me, which is eating free breakfast.

7:05am, I am driving my car to McDonald's Ulu Tiram.
They just starting to serve free breakfast.
I get one Egg McMuffin burger for free, and they also providing free orange juice (self service) to everyone.

After eating breakfast, I am on the way to work.
